Autism Evaluation Services

Now Offering Autism Evaluations!
I am excited to announce that I am now a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS) and am offering comprehensive autism assessments for adults who have always wondered if they might be autistic. Many individuals go through life feeling different, struggling with sensory sensitivities, social interactions, or masking their true selves—without ever knowing why. If this sounds like you, a formal assessment can provide clarity and validation.

What to Expect from the Evaluation Process

Self-Pay Option (Two-Session Evaluation) – $250 per visit

  • Visit 1 (90 minutes) – A comprehensive mental health evaluation to assess for co-occurring conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or PTSD.
  • Visit 2 (90 minutes) – A comprehensive autism assessment using standardized tools designed for adult diagnosis.

Insurance Option (3-4 Sessions, Covered by Accepted Insurance Plans)

  • Due to insurance time constraints, evaluations will be split into shorter visits over multiple sessions.
  • This process ensures a thorough assessment while meeting insurance guidelines.

🔹 If you would like documentation of your diagnosis (formal letters for workplaces, universities, or accommodations), these can be provided for an additional fee, which will be discussed during your first visit.

Common Signs of Autism in Adults

Autism looks different for everyone, but some common experiences include:
✔️ Social Challenges – Difficulty with small talk, reading social cues, or forming/maintaining relationships.
✔️ Sensory Sensitivities – Being overwhelmed by bright lights, loud noises, certain fabrics, or food textures.
✔️ Masking – Feeling like you’re constantly “acting” to fit in, leading to exhaustion or burnout.
✔️ Rigid Routines & Special Interests – Strong preferences for structure, order, or intense focus on specific topics.
✔️ Emotional Regulation Difficulties – Struggling with meltdowns, shutdowns, or heightened anxiety.

Many adults never get diagnosed until later in life because they’ve learned to mask their differences. If you resonate with these symptoms, an evaluation could provide clarity and relief.

Benefits of Getting an Autism Diagnosis

Self-Understanding & Validation – A diagnosis can help you make sense of past struggles and affirm your identity.
Access to Accommodations – Many workplaces, schools, and organizations offer supports for autistic individuals.
Better Mental Health Management – Addressing co-occurring conditions (anxiety, ADHD, OCD, depression) with targeted care.
Personal Growth & Self-Acceptance – Learn coping strategies that align with your unique strengths.

At Zen Life Mental Wellness, I don’t just provide evaluations—I offer ongoing mental health care, including therapy, medication management, and strategies to help you thrive.

FAQ’s

Do I need a referral for an autism evaluation?

No, you do not need a referral. You can schedule your evaluation directly with me at Zen Life Mental Wellness. Just reach out via phone or email to book your first appointment.

Can I still be autistic if I make eye contact and have good social skills?

Yes! Many autistic adults have learned to mask their traits, meaning they consciously or unconsciously imitate neurotypical behaviors. Autism is about more than social difficulties—it also affects sensory processing, cognition, executive function, and emotional regulation.

Will my insurance cover the evaluation?

If I accept your insurance, you can use it, but due to insurance limitations, the evaluation will take place over three to four shorter visits instead of two longer ones. If you prefer a faster, more streamlined process, you may opt for self-pay at $250 per visit (two visits total).

What happens if I am diagnosed with autism?

If you receive an autism diagnosis, I can provide:
✔️ Therapy and/or medication management for co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or ADHD
✔️ Guidance on navigating life as an autistic adult
✔️ Help with workplace and school accommodations
✔️ Formal documentation if needed (additional fees apply)

A diagnosis is just the beginning—I’m here to support you in the next steps of your journey.

What if I’m not sure I’m autistic?

That’s completely fine! Many adults seek evaluations just to gain clarity and self-understanding. If autism is not the best explanation for your experiences, we can explore other possibilities, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, OCD, or sensory processing differences.

Can I get documentation for work, school, or accommodations?

Yes! If you need formal letters or forms filled out for an employer, university, or other organization, I can provide official documentation of your diagnosis. Additional fees do apply, and we can discuss this further at your first appointment.
